Matthew Silecchia is a life-long resident of Sayville, where he is an active member of the community. He is a parishioner at St Lawrence the Martyr Church, and a member of the East End Republican Club. He is a product of the public school system and graduated from Sayville High School in 2002.

After high school Matt attended the University of Albany, where he received his B.A in American History. Currently, Matt works for Biovail Pharmaceuticals as a specialty sales representative and was awarded as a top national sales winner in 2009. His dynamic background as a student of history, blue-collar worker, and businessman grants him the experience to deal with every aspect of government and how it affects our taxpayers.

Matt’s represents the future of Long Island and he believes that his role as a Legislator will make that future brighter. His conservative beliefs and ideologies are a beacon of hope in our rapidly changing society.

Matt is aware of the challenges that his neighbors are confronted with, and he is determined to bring a fresh new prospective to the local government and work hard to reach more effective solutions. He will devote his time in the Legislature to issues, such as, lowering taxes, protecting the environmental, helping small-businesses grow, and keeping the public safe.

On Long Island today, high property taxes are forcing the young and old to leave because they simply cannot afford to stay. Matt will work to lower taxes and create incentives that will increase the availability of affordable housing.

As a professional in the health care system, Matt understands the need to keep health care in the private sector and away from big governmental control. He will work with small business owners to see that workers are able to obtain affordable health care. Through the use of tax credits, we can keep healthcare out of the government’s hands while ensuring competition between private companies.

Matt believes that the safety and protection of the taxpayer is of the utmost importance, and will work to make our community a safer, more enjoyable place to live.

He will build a relationship with the various law enforcement agencies so that they can work together in achieving this goal.

Matt Silecchia has a clear vision for the future of Suffolk County, and he is ready and willing to make that vision a reality.
